Learning Objectives:
• To review recent revisions to the guidelines for the management of dyslpidaemia and to consider their potential impact on clinical practice and the burden of CVD.
•  To highlight treatment strategies for raising HDL-C and to discuss recent clinical trial data on the effectiveness of HDL-C-raising for reducing CVD risk.
• To examine the barriers to effective treatment of dyslipidaemia in high-risk patients and to explore strategies for improving CVD risk management in this patient population.
