Educational objectives of this event is:

  • To highlight that many patients at risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) remain unidentified and undertreated.
  • To highlight that certain patient groups are at higher risk of CVD, and often require more intensive treatment to managerisk factors to recommended treatment goals.
  • To consider strategies for the effective management of patients at higher risk of CVD, including the elderly and women.
  • To examine the utility of imaging-derived measures of atherosclerosis and biomarkers for improving the assessment of CVD risk.
  • To provide an update on current guidelines for CVD prevention.
  • To consider strategies for improving the implementation of, and adherence to, CVD prevention guidelines.
  • To discuss opportunities for improving CVD risk factor management.

The educational needs for this programme were determined through feedback from delegates at previous meetings,recent published literature, plus consultation with the esteemed chairmen and faculty.

Target audience: Trained cardiologists, Lipidologists, Diabetologists, Endocrinologists and other physicians.
